Established in 2013, RFCA Ghana has accomplished great strides in the fight against breast cancer. With 60% of breast cancer patients presenting at stage 3 and stage 4 breast cancer (Opoku, Benwell, & Yarney, 2012), RFCA Ghana is developing a program for volunteers and young secondary students to serve as ambassadors. They are creating specially developed educational materials in local languages so that all women can know and understand their risks. Additionally, RFCA Ghana donated a mammogram machine to the San Martin de Porres Hospital at Eikwe, the Western Region in Ghana. Before their donation, women were having to travel a daunting two hours to Accra to get their annual screening. Click on any pic to go their website.
